I Go to LA in 2 Weeks!
Two weeks from now, I’ll be on a plane to California, and shortly after that, on foot.
This video marks a transition moment for me. I’ve been preparing, thinking, designing, and reflecting — and now it’s time to start reaching out to people across Los Angeles County and set the meetings that will shape this journey.
LA2B is a walk across all 88 cities of L.A. County, done neighborhood by neighborhood. It’s not a stunt, and it’s not a protest. I think of it as a design walk — a way to understand what’s actually working, what’s broken, and what could be rebuilt if we designed our mobility systems around people instead of vehicles.
L.A. matters because it’s a megaregion. Ten million people. More than most states. If we can’t solve car dependency, affordability, and climate resilience here, we won’t solve them anywhere.
This walk is also personal. I’ve been in and out of Los Angeles for over 40 years — from car design school, to early electric vehicles, to transportation labs. I’m returning to see what’s changed, what hasn’t, and what we’re ready to do next. I’ll also be talking openly about mental health, resilience, and what it means to show up whole.
As of now, I’m two weeks out — and the next phase begins: calling people, setting meet-ups, and opening the door to co-creation. The future doesn’t arrive fully formed. We make it together.
If you’re in L.A., I hope our paths cross.
